The Reverend Stacy Smith
Stacy Smith has been a parish associate at Idlewild since early 2010. She is also Supervisor of Christian Formation in Wellness at the Church Health Center.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Stacy holds a M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in New York and a B.A. from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She previously served congregations in Indiana and New York and has worked in inter-religious non-profits in Texas, New York and Washington, D.C. Stacy came to Memphis in 2009 to join the staff of Faith Community Outreach at the Church Health Center, a non-profit group that provides healthcare for the working uninsured of Shelby County and promotes healthy bodies and spirits for all.
She was very excited to join the staff of Idlewild, being well-acquainted with the congregation since high school and having spent many nights sleeping on the second floor of the church while traveling to and from Montreat Conference Center, in North Carolina, with her youth group.
Stacy has a deep love for Scotland and an interest in Celtic spirituality, and takes regular pilgrimages to the Iona Community in Scotland. She is a writer and an artist. She especially likes HBO, Tom Robbins, R.E.M. and sushi. The best way to contact her is at smiths@churchhealthcenter.org .
