Worship at Idlewild brings its members into the presence of the sacred through words proclaimed, songs sung and heard, and people gathering to glorify God and to comfort each other. On Sundays and throughout the week, seekers and believers are given places where they can be more available to the Spirit of the God who lives within and among us. We worship by raising our hearts and minds to find truth in the face of times and events that do not lend themselves to the ready comfort we crave.
When you worship at Idlewild, be assured that your cares and concerns will be heard, nurtured and respected. The sermons honor the best of Biblical scholarship along with the compassion of Jesus; the music reflects Bach as well as children’s voices — reminding us who the precious ones really are; and in prayer and sacrament we find the Risen Christ present. More Than A Meal Worship and Dinner
More Than A Meal (MTAM) is a free sit-down-and-be-served dinner for anyone who needs it, served each and every Thursday at 5:30. Before dinner, at 5:00, a half-hour MTAM worship service is held in the Chapel.
