Casey Thompson
Casey is our Associate Pastor for Congregational Life, working primarily with young adults and evangelism. Casey came to us from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2005. He loves to read, write, paint, play basketball, play with his kids, and talk with his wife.
In the church, Casey has particular interests in teaching scripture, which he does with our Disciple program, crafting liturgy for Sunday worship, preparing sermons, talking with people about sticky theological questions and embodying the difficulty of faith by generally making a mess of his from time to time. If he were not a minister, Casey would write novels.
Casey has been married to Sharon, a psychologist, since 1991 and has two lovely daughters, Willow and Lily, neither of whom have decided on careers yet. Willow is leaning toward being a mechanical engineer; Lily toward being 'a giant chicken monster.'
Casey is also proud to be a member of the two time defending champions of the Idlewild Sole to Soul trivia night--and he anxiously awaits your challenge in September.
