The Mt. LeConte trip is almost here

The Mt. LeConte hiking trip is July 13–15. This annual summer adventure is much more than hiking. There’s shopping in Gatlinburg, whitewater rafting on the Nantahala, and a great breakfast on top of the mountain. Cost is app. $250 per person. Call recreation at 725-4165 for information.

Portals of Peace: Creating a World of Prayers

Invite friends from diverse religious communities and groups to become Prayer Partners with Idlewild Presbyterian Church on World Communion and Peacemaking Sunday, October 5. They can do this by giving Idlewild permission to inscribe their organization’s name on PORTALS OF PEACE hangings, and by enjoining their prayers for peace with those of our congregation.

It is important to have written permission from each organization for the inscriptions, so be sure to ask that they send the agreement back to Idlewild Church by August 1 (or return it yourself).

Visit www.idlewildchurch.org/portalsofpeace.htm for details and a letter of invitation.
